On March 9, 2012 the U.S. FDA approved a silicone gel-filled breast impalnt manufactured by Sientra for surgeries to increase breast size (augmentation) and for reconstruction in women at least 22 years old.  With today's approval there are now three FDA-approved silicone gel-filled breast implants; Allergan, Mentor and Sientra.
